Kids yoga offers so much more than just movement. It helps physical, social and emotional development.
And it’s fun!
Here’s a little glimpse into how kids yoga gently supports your child’s growing body, busy mind, and big emotions.

What are the benefits of kids yoga?
Yoga is such a beneficial and fun thing to introduce to your little one! Here are some of the amazing benefits of yoga for kids…
Yoga is fun!
All of my classes are built around storytelling, so for your child it simply feels like an adventure. We might go on a bear hunt, float through space, or explore the jungle—moving, stretching and breathing our way through the story together. It’s imaginative, engaging, and most importantly… really good fun.
Yoga is educational
I might seem like a care-free idiot jumping up and down like a frog for no apparent reason, but as a qualified teacher, I have actually planned every class with the Early Years curriculum in mind! That means while your child is playing and exploring, they’re also building the foundations for strong literacy, numeracy, physical development, language skills, emotional wellbeing and social skills—without even realising it.
Yoga helps kids’ social development
In our sessions, children naturally begin to learn how to be part of a group—sharing, taking turns, and supporting each other in a relaxed, pressure-free way. There’s no expectation to “get it right,” which helps even the shyest children feel comfortable joining in.

Yoga helps kids (and parents!) deal with tantrums
For little ones who express their feelings through tears, noise, or big emotional outbursts (so, all of them, give or take?!), I gently introduce simple breathing techniques that help calm their bodies and minds. Over time, these small tools can really help children pause, regulate, and cope better with those overwhelming moments—both in class and at home.
Yoga gently supports children in understanding and managing their emotions—things like frustration, jealousy, or those big “no!” moments—by giving them simple tools to use their breath and voice in a positive way.
Yoga helps’ children’s physical development
Physically, yoga supports your child’s growing body in such a natural, playful way. Through stretching, balancing, crawling, climbing and moving in different ways, they’re building strength, coordination and body awareness—all while being completely immersed in the story.
As they learn different poses and movements, children become more aware of their bodies and the space around them, which can really support their overall development.

Yoga builds confidence
Yoga also helps children build confidence and self-esteem. There’s lots of opportunity to explore, try things out, and develop skills at their own pace. It’s all about small steps, little wins, and celebrating what their bodies can do. I build affirmations like “I am brave,” and “I can try,” into my stories, to help them build a positive image of themselves. Why? This supports them to explore their world with curiosity and enjoyment!
Yoga encourages creativity and expression
Of course, creativity is at the heart of every class. Because when children are engaged in play and imagination, that’s when the real magic (and learning) happens.
Kids yoga is for every child
Kids yoga is completely non-competitive and inclusive. Every child is welcome, every child can join in in their own way, and every child is enough just as they are.
Whether you absolutely love yoga, or are a complete beginner, I cannot wait to welcome you and your child to one of my kids’ yoga classes soon and start sharing all of the amazing benefits of yoga with you and your family!

FAQs
What age is kids yoga for?
This class is aimed at toddlers and pre-schoolers. You’re welcome to join as soon as your child is confidently walking. If you’re home educating your school aged child you are also welcome to join us!
I also offer ‘Baby & Me’ yoga classes for babies and adults. This is a very different class that is more focused on the adult enjoying yoga with their baby. I’ll have info about this soon but for now, join my mailing list so you’re the first to know when it starts!
My child struggles to focus- will kids yoga suit them?
Yes! It’s a child-led class and I completely get that they may need to go and look at that thing on the corner of the room instead of doing tree pose!
